WELCOME

Welcome to the Durham Rod & Gun Club’s website. The D.R.G.C. is dedicated to the preservation of Maine’s outdoor sporting heritage. Through education, club events, youth outreach, women and family involvement, we encourage, foster and develop a higher appreciation of our local natural resources.

We also encourage the safe use of firearms, archery and fishing equipment while on our club premises or in the fields and on the waters of our great state.

Our Mission

The Durham Rod and Gun Club is an organization of sports Men and Women dedicated to the heritage of the rod and gun, garnered from pioneer hunters and fishermen of Maine.

We encourage the youth of our locality to appreciate, protect and enjoy the recreations of these sports afield, on the waters and at the club; and with our youth encourage, foster and develop a higher appreciation of the natural attractions of the woods and streams in this vicinity.

We encourage the safe participation in all organized and individual activities at the Durham Rod and Gun Club in utilizing sporting arms and ammunition, archery and fishing equipment.

Finally, we pledge to help mold and develop public sentiment to this end.

  1. Hello, do you have to use a rifle in the shooting range or can you use a pistol?

    • Hi,

The public access is set up for shooting rifles. Depending on the Range Safety Officer on duty and the number of participants registered, the RSO has the option to allow use of the pistol range. Also, pistols can be used on the rifle ranges as long as it does not interfere with others using rifles on that range.

I would recommend asking before registering if you want to only shoot handguns to make sure you can be accommodated.
